Loving Relations Under the Libra Full Moon

WHEN THE MOON IS FULL there is a heightened awareness of whatever is present. In the case of this weekend's full moon, it's our relationships. The sun in Aries will directly oppose the moon at 26° of Libra on Saturday, April 16th at 2:35 PM EST.

Aries is a cardinal fire sign that actively defends one’s own will to live freely and at the helm of their own ship. The sun at 26° of Aries acknowledges falling passionately and unapologetically in love with oneself as vehicle for spreading love into the world.

Libra is a cardinal air sign that seeks to fulfill a sense of peace, balance and harmony with others, especially romantic partners. The moon at 26° of Libra knows that no relationship can be perfect, but there is a perfect space that can hold room for it all.

Under this lunation one may feel an opposition between the needs of the self and the needs of the other. The Aries/ Libra dynamic teaches that the more we are willing to practice an honest, reverent and healthy relationship with ourselves, the easier our external relationships will flow.

This full moon speaks specifically to relationships that promote a sense of relief from mental strife. You might make a list of people who offer you space for imperfection, and acknowledge your appreciation for their presence in your life by honestly letting them know how you feel.

A positive trine of the moon to Saturn indicates there is a way to work through a feeling of pressure or burden within relationships by setting personal boundaries, holding higher self-standards, and practicing mental discipline.

A challenging square of the moon to Pluto illuminates a karmic relationship that possibly began on or around October 6th, 2021 with a familiar soul who may act as a mirror for self-reflection, growth and personal accountability.

Pluto can create confusion if we choose to add drama to the situation, or its influence can result in a deep healing of old, generational wounds if we choose to name and respond honestly to what’s here. You might ask:

  • What do I choose to keep private or secret within my relationships?

  • What brutal honesty is necessary in order for me/ us to move forward?

  • What am I hiding from my partner?

  • What am I not coming clean to myself about?

  • What allows me to gyroscopically hold the internal or external dynamic between self and other/ perfection and imperfection/ disruption and peace?

Meanwhile, transcendent and mystical Pisces currently hosts four of the eight planetary bodies, Neptune, Jupiter, Venus and Mars, adding a spiritually romantic undertone to our lives through May 2nd.

Being the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces brings a felt sense of what is leaving, or on its way out, in order to make room for the new. What actions, relationships, or world views are up for renewal at this time?

As we contemplate cycles, timing, and letting go, the following inquiries may begin to arise: Why am I here? What is it all for? What happens after death? Might the physical body be a vehicle for the soul, which never dies?

Meditation, journaling, mindfully walking in nature, sitting with a cup of tea looking out the window, cooking, cleaning, or playing with animals are some examples of flow-state practices that allow the unconscious mind a chance to speak.

A once-in-a-lifetime conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces encourages us to open to the unknown parts of ourselves, validate and trust the invisible yet real aspects of our existence, and claim the fruits of our own physiological, psychic or spiritual labor.
